Does the quick play magic card mystical space typhoon negate and destroys the effect of other magic and traps?

Not destroy the effect, but it destroys card as a chain, so, when you activate a trap, your opponent chain it with MST, the the effect of your trap doesn't work because it destroyed by MST..
