Does working at mcdonalds get easier?

It definitely gets easier. Unfortunately, you weren't trained properly. Training is an ongoing process where you should never be left. However, realistically this isn't possible, and crew trainers have a lot to handle and take care of. Most in my stores work almost like managers. Remember that it will get easier and also remember how you felt. One day someone new will be there and when you want to get short with them for asking a "dumb" question, remember how you felt when you weren't properly trained. Just be sure to ask lots of questions if you have one, and call a manager over if necessary to deal with a customer who is impatient with your learning. Also, if a manager tries to place you in a position that you are uncomfortable with, let them know! I sometimes put people in places not realizing that they haven't had much training...Don't be rude, just politely say "I'm not really comfortable taking orders yet, could I either maybe work in ____, or do you think *so and so* could stand and help me for a little bit while I get the hang of it?". Managers aren't mind readers and everyone learns at different speeds. Sometimes if I know that someone has been trained in DT I think that they are ok on their own. Some people take a week to learn it and others take 10 minutes. So just trying communicating politely to the shift manager.
