Put rubbing alcohol in my ear and now I can't hear very well? please help!?

I went swimming and got some water in both my ears and I was really desperate to get it out because I am realy scared of ear infections. Nothing had worked to get it out so I looked up some ways to get it out and tried the rubbing alcohol method. I put some drops of rubbing alcohol in my ears and it did feel like the water came out. But now, it feels like my hearing is a bit worse on one ear and the other one hurts a bit. I am so scared. I am embarrassed to tell my mom because she will yell at me for doing that rubbing alcohol thing :( Did I damage my ears forever?Please help, I know what I did was dumb. But I am so scared! please help!
