A question about the Christian belief of Jesus returning to this earth...?

Am I right in thinking that different Christians have different understandings of how this will take place - that some of them think it will be a "rapture" where true believers are whisked off to Heaven and everyone else suffers, but that other Christians don't see it as a time of tribulation?
